The office began its activities in March 2002 and cooperates with Care within West GSMI project.

Building of the open society, active participation in the democratic process, strengthening of the Third Sector, formation of the social policy in west Georgia, participation in the developments of new fields, initiatives in the fields of health, education and child welfare, participation in the community mobilization process by the formation of the social policy working groups and their support.

The main activities cover retaining relations with the social policy working groups of Imereti, Samegrelo, Racha-Lechkhumi, Guria, Svaneti, Ajara,and assisting them with the preparation of plans and projects. Additionally, the office disseminates the educational and informational materials as well as performs teamwork within the social policy working groups regarding their promotion, increasing their roles in the mass media. Relations with the governments, businesses, and Third Sector representatives are also important. Taking care about the coordination between the sectors, participation in the process of building the democratic state,are other factors considered in the framework of their function.
