Horizonti Foundation Zugdidi office has been operating since April 2003 and is oriented on supporting the development of Social policy in Georgia . The office provides the Samegrelo region communities and NGOs with information about the ongoing processes in the third sector and about the reforms in Social Policy. To achieve these goals the Horizonti Foundation Zugdidi office undertakes the following tasks:

• Supports the activities of the Social Policy Working Groups in Samegrelo region; Organizes and conducts community information meetings all over the Samegrelo region.
• Provides community members with various kinds of technical assistance; Conducts training on organizational development and advocacy for local communities and NGOs;
• Provides organizations, communities and individuals with consultations on organizational development, registration process, advocacy and strategic planning.

 The Horizonti Foundation Zugdidi office representatives carry out needs assessment of the NGO sector in the Samegrelo region. The office also keeps the local population informed about most important events and activities that are taking place in the region and encourages communities to become involved and actively participate in decision making process. The well-informed communities and individuals in Zugdidi are now taking their first steps in supporting the social development, both locally and on the national level. They started cooperating with local government structures and groups representing civil society in solving both common and acute problems. The Horizonti Foundation Zugdidi office issues and distributes a quarterly bulletin covering the activities of local NGOs. The office works in close cooperation with international organizations operating in Zugdidi and other parts of the Samegrelo region.
