The geography of the activities carried out from Gori office covers a wide geographic area, which includes the larger “Shida Kartli” region (Gori, Khashuri. Kareli and Kaspi districts; Akhalgori Region under the framework of the Social Policy component). And when needed, other parts of Georgia are covered from this office as well. The goal of the Horizonti Foundation Gori office is supporting the organizational development of local NGOs, helping to bring about changes in Social Policy, effecting community mobilization and regional development. To achieve this goals the office caries out the following activities:

• Updates the databases of local and regional NGOs;
• Conducts Trainings for NGOs and Community initiative groups;
• Provides representatives of NGOs, local government and other structures with consultations on the following issues: organization structure, project proposal writing, cooperating with donors, fundraising, collaborating with media, public relations, cooperation with government and business structures, advocacy, NGO legislation etc.
• Coordinates and provides the Shida Kartli Social Policy Working Group with technical assistance;
• Helps local communities in developing necessary skills for active participation in decision-making process;
• Supports cross-sectoral cooperation through joint meetings, exchanging information, planning joint events, activities etc;

In order to promote Horizonti’s initiatives and programs in wider society, the Gori office collaborates with local media and organizes meeting between

the Horizonti Foundation and  partners of the Community Mobilization Initiative Program, which includes  Local governments, NGOs and Community members.
