Institutions under the guidance of Ministry of Education of Georgia
Total number of children living in these institutions is 3629. In 10 Orphanages registered in Georgia under the ministry of education live 786 children. 509 children attend 3 Boarding schools for orphans and children lacking parental care. 20 boarding schools for mentally and physically handicapped children have 1887 pupil living there, and 521 visiting ones. There is one boarding school for juvenile delinquents where 40 children are kept.

There is only one registered Detention Center for Juvenile delinquents in Georgia where 57 live. There is also Gldani Special receiving center for Juvenile delinquents, which accommodates children for a short period of time and redistributes children detained by the police. One more institution is registered in Adjara Autonomy Republic , but no information about it is available for State Department of Statistics.
