Childrens voises:
Every week one question is asked to children on the street about their needs, knowledge and problems. It's done to show organizations dealing with children and ordinary people who would like to do something for children what exactly is needed to be done.

Question of the week: What do you know about your rights?

Kato Svanidze, 8 years old, lives with her grandmother in Gldani district, but spends all days and sometimes even nights on the streets of Tbilisi, bagging. She does not attend school.

"I think I have right to play and study, like my pears. But I don't have time for it. I know that there are some people (organizations) who give chance to children like me to study, but if I study who will feed my grandmother and me?

Aleko Gasoev, 11 years old, has mother and three sisters. As he says his mother forces him and his sisters to bag.

"I have right to do what I would like. I wouldn't like to live with my mother, but by myself. She is always drunk and bits us if we don't give her money. I prefer to stay at street all night.

Oleg Gelashvili, 9 years old, says that he was found on the street and taken to the orphan house when he was new born. Now he lives in the ruins of factory on Costava street .

"I have right to have my own name. Oleg Gelashvili is not my real name; it was given to me in an orphan house. I don't like my name, and I want to know who I am.

Giorgi Badalashvili, 7 years old, says that he lived in Tskneti orphan house, from where he escaped two years ago. Georgi doesn't have two fingers on the left hand and three on the right hand from birth. He has parents but as he says they can't support him.

"Two years ago a foreigner came to our orphan house and said that he would like to adopt me and take abroad. But it was impossible as I had parents. Nobody asked me what I would like to do. Yes I have parents but I see them once in two or three years. Why I don't have a right to decide what to do by myself?"

Davit Kardashian, 8 years old, lives in Martkophi Orphan house. He doesn't understand a word right, and can't read and write.

"I know that children have mothers and fathers, I want to know who are mines. Is it a right? And may I know this?"
