Besides Georgia faces huge economic and social difficulties, and children are ones who suffer from it most of all, there are not many Georgian web sites dedicated to children's problems.
Meanwhile according to independent survey made by Georgian NGOs, about 20 000 disabled children stay without education while according to the survey published by State Department of Statistics of Georgia the number of those children is 8,144.
Although Georgia signed the Convention on the Rights of the Child the Georgian Parliament has not ratified the law on inclusive education and several others yet. This deprives disabled children an opportunity to get normal education and integrate into society.
Many children who have hard psychical disorders are not treated by psychiatrists and isolated from other children in orphan houses. Because of this the 11 years old boy was killed by his 13 years old friend in Martkophi orphan house in 2002.
In Adjara Autonomic Republic is an institution for Juvenile delinquents which is not registered by The State Ministry of Interior and no information about it or children kept there is not available for the State, NGOs or media.
However there are also dozens of NGOs working on children's problems and many ordinary people are ready to help children. This media resource is made for them, to share experiences, to ask and answer questions. And just to help children some how.
